Corporate Law
petow.law advises national and international clients on all aspects of corporate law, including stock corporation law (Aktienrecht), the law on groups of companies (Konzernrecht), and the laws on partnerships (Personengesellschaftsrecht), public tender offers, and obligations under capital market laws, as well as in the context of M&A transactions and joint ventures. Our client base is as broad as our experience, ranging from companies from the real economy and finance, financial investors, and family-owned companies to start-ups in all phases of their life cycle.
Corporate Governance
Based on longstanding experience, petow.law advises companies and their board members on corporate governance issues, respective duties, and on the corporate governance structure of an enterprise. This includes advising members of management boards and supervisory boards – also in critical situations of the company – (boardroom advice), advice on questions of directors' liability and regarding its prevention. petow.law also advises investors, holding companies, and family offices on all aspects of corporate governance.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)
petow.law advises in particular on the aspects of ESG relating to corporate law and corporate governance. The holistic advisory approach inter alia covers the following topics: requirements regarding the corporate governance system of the enterprise, the composition of boards, the implications of ESG aspects for directors' duties – also in the context of corporate transactions – directors' liability (including aspects of the business judgement rule), reporting obligations (including ESG reporting), ESG-related dialogue between companies, investors, and proxy advisors, as well as ESG aspects of directors' remuneration.

Professional Experience
Longstanding experience as a lawyer (Rechtsanwältin) since 2012 in renowned UK, German, and US international law firms, since 2019 as a Counsel at Shearman & Sterling LLP and until 2023 as a Counsel at Linklaters LLP.
PhD (Promotion) on a corporate governance topic, Hamburg University, supervised by Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Klaus J. Hopt.
Law studies at the universities of Duesseldorf, Maastricht, Paris, and London (LL.M., London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)). Traineeships inter alia at the European Commission and the OECD.
